Why are App Store localizations important?
When you localize your app in the App Store, you not only adapt it for a specific country but also get more space to add keywords.
In some countries, the App Store indexes multiple languages. For example, in the US, both English (US) and Spanish (Mexico) are indexed.
You can find a full list of main and additional localizations in our ASO section using the App Store Localization tool.
Tip: Use extra localizations to add more keywords and improve your app's search performance.
Example:
If your main market is the US and you don't have enough space for all your keywords in English, you can add them to the Spanish (Mexico) locale, even if you're not targeting Spanish-speaking users. This gives you 160 extra characters for keywords in English (Title, Subtitle, and Keywords).
Keep in mind that keywords only work within the same language. For example, if you add "coloring" in English (US) and "kids" in Spanish (MX), the App Store won't index "kids coloring" in the US.
